Rampage - Human Nature (Halloween Post)

I have been wanting to film this piece for awhile. It was on a whim that I asked Josh if he could play my character. We immediately set up in the studio and started filming. Josh is definitely a team player as i asked him to shake his head violently and with great intensity, until he almost lost his balance. (Note: No employees where harmed during the filming of this film.)

The concept behind it was that as human beings we all have an innate animalistic personality. What does not always show above on the surface is internalized within. I wanted to express how that emotion would be viewed if we saw it externalized. I wanted the piece to feel contained as if you were locked in that space. I shot everything at 60p and sped up certain clips with overlays to give a feeling of darkness and helplessness.

Many thanks to Josh for jumping in and acting (though I know secretly he loves being in front of the camera) for me. It was a piece that let me express a certain emotion. I look forward to producing more pieces about the human spirit.
